I can fully understand why more people don’t take a year off to travel. It is a TON of work. Our days consist of researching flight costs, immunization research, visa research, leasing our house, selling items on Craigslist, packing our house, getting our passports ready, shopping for supportive shoes and travel accessories and the list goes on and on. We are now finding that even with a month out we are almost too close to get some of the immunizations we ideally want and almost not enough time to send away for visas to some countries. In case anyone was planning on meeting us in Shanghai, we have eliminated China from our trip and booked a flight from Seoul, South Korea to Sydney, Australia. China has a $140 entry visa…enough said. At this point Andy and I have both given notice to our jobs and now don’t feel like we have to walk on egg shells at work. It is a huge relief!
