Or at least we tried to… Initially we thought we would be able to enjoy some sun rays versus the rain and cold weather we were used to having. But, that did not happen, the cold weather continued even while we were on the coast in a beach town. We stayed in Busan for three days, two of which we couch surfed with Kendra, who was an amazing host! Busan is a port city located on the Southeast coast, it was the only major city not to be captured by the North Koreans during the war, therefore the city still has some of the early century architecture and can tend to be a little gritty. We rented bikes on the beach, we ate in the fish market, rode a Ferris wheel, went to a temple on the water and attended a Battle of Bands concert at an expat bar! Definitely a fun-filled few days!
We have just hit our one month travel anniversary. Still alive and happily married:) We believe at this point we packed the correct belongings, we are relatively on budget, thanks to family, friends, couch surfers and street food. We did not expect the abundance of time required to plan a trip of this magnitude, not just lodging and activities but choosing locations and transportation too. Most commonly used items so far have been hand sanitizer sleep sack, shower shoes, our jacket and our long sleeve shirts. We are off to Sydney to celebrate Adena’s bday and hopefully will enjoy some warmer weather.

What a fabulous adventure!! I LOVE reading the updates-keep them coming! Adena-happy birthday!!
AM in Boulder and have been thinking of you as I drove from airport. Had some snow here over the weekend.
Have fun in Australia, can’t wait to read that too
Great coastal photos…your smiles and Adena’s fish face!
